Synopsis
Shonel is a 35-year-old wife and mother of two young children who runs a successful styling business. Shonel and her husband Luke made the decision to move to rural Victoria, seeking the perfect property that aligned with their values of living a natural and chemical free lifestyle as best they can.
In late 2019, Shonel was watching television one night and felt a small lump in her breast which prompted her to make an appointment with her GP to get it checked. Follow up tests confirmed a diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that accounts for only 15% of breast cancers but 50% of breast cancer deaths.
Breast cancer is never a welcomed diagnosis and with it came an onslaught of challenges both and emotionally and physically for Shonel and her family. After finding only dire stories of others with triple negative breast cancer; Shonel found herself overcome with fear, barely managing to stay afloat while being overwhelmed with thoughts of the worst-case scenarios.
Shonel decided to make it her mission to find out what the silver lining of the situation was and was determined to find a way to use that to help others while undergoing her own treatment journey. She was determined to become the story of success she failed to find.
